I think it’s safe to say that this year has been tough on everyone. While I’d never suggest that facial scrubs, bath salts, and tea is a long-term cure for stress, I will say those little things can go a long way when looking for “me time” to help curb anxieties and reconnect with yourself.
That’s why I immediately fell in love with TheraBox as it’s essentially one amazing “Treat Yoself Day” in a box (and, if you don’t know what “Treat Yoself Day” is, stop what you’re doing and go binge Parks and Rec).
TheraBox recently celebrated their third anniversary and curated a box that is treat yoself-care to a tee. In the box came brilliant black toothpaste, a tea sample box, rescue butter, a chamomile calming mask, lip scrub, bath salts, CBD lip salve, a sheet mask filled with Vitamin B, and a self-love journal. All of this stuff was right up my alley and are items I’m excited to buy more of and give as gifts.
Terra & Co.’s Brilliant Black Toothpaste: I’ve been curious about black toothpaste for a while now but haven’t gotten around to trying it. I’m so glad that I finally have because, while it doesn’t leave me feeling as minty fresh as Colgate, I do notice a difference in the whiteness of my teeth. It doesn’t say to not overuse, but I try to only use it once or twice a week just in case constant use would aggravate my teeth. It’s also worth noting that my Philips Sonicare toothbrush has made a noticeable difference in the shine and whitening of my teeth, as well. It’s an unbeatable duo.
Your Tea’s Mini Makeover Tea Sample Box: this box came with a variety of teas including: Tiny Tea, Skin Magic Tea, Anti-C Tea, and Happy Tea. These are very herbally and are traditional Chinese medicine blends, according to the box, and each tea serves its own purpose. Tiny is a detox tea, Skin is obviously good for your skin, Anti-C battles cellulite, and Happy is made to boost your mood. While I can’t speak to any of them making drastic changes, I will say that they are a great probiotic.
Dr. Botanical’s Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter: This stuff smells as good as it feels. It leaves me feeling smooth like butter and smelling like the lemon cake from Portillo’s and that’s a combination that I feel very happy about. Plus it’s multipurpose and can be used as lotion, moisturizer, and more!
Flower Mill’s Calming Chamomile Mask: This is a powder that is turned into a face mask when mixed with water. It smells really fresh and calms about as much as a mask can. I liked the texture of this and the process of making the consistency myself because I prefer masks to be a bit heavier over being liquidy.
AMNH Skincare’s Birthday Cake Lip Scrub: This stuff is divine. It smells good, tastes good, and feels good. It leaves my lips feeling plump and incredibly smooth. Plus it’s a pretty pink color with little sprinkles for a pop of birthday fun. This came in handy when I spent too much time in the sun and my lips were feeling a bit burnt and dried. A little bit of this (coupled with the product below) made my lips feel better than normal.
Aromatic Mint’s CBD Lip Salve: I’ll be honest, I was a little worried this would make my lips numb. Irrational, I know. Instead, it feels my lips feeling very smooth and, well, the straight up opposite of chapped. It’s unscented which I love so there’s nothing to it but smoothness. Using this after the lip scrub is my new favorite lip regimine.
Tub Tonic’s Divanation soaking salts*: This salts smell and look amazing and left a glittery hue on my skin after my soak. They did their job of giving my nose something to enjoy while relaxing in calming waters. The only downside is it left a black ring around my tub (which I was able to easily scrub off with a sponge and cleaner). Worth a try, but there may be some clean up required.
*There doesn’t seem to be a working link for this company, but you can find some re-sellers via Google.
Sweet Chef’s Kale + Vitamin B Fresh Pressed Sheet Mask: I immediately felt clean and refreshed upon putting on this mask. It had a cute little kale cartoon on the mask and smelled nice and fresh. My only issue with sheet masks in general is that the leftover serum always gets stuck in my hair. Aside from that, I dug the mask and my skin felt really nice afterwards!
TheraBox’s Self Love journal: You know I’m a sucker for a good journal and this is one that should be on the shelves of anyone who is into self-care. It has a mood tracker (which you get to color code), inspiring quotes, a self-tracker, and tons of ideas and space to allow you to develop routines to support your self-care journey.
This is what came in just. one. box. How could you not want this every month? It’s definitely my favorite subscription box that I’ve tried so far. Boxes start at just $35 and include over $100 worth of products. This could be a sweet gift for someone you love (or a sweet gift for you!)
